Running a Session

What we find best when running a session

1. Set up VR play area

• To do this, you're going to want to set up your guardian. If you're new to this or just want a refresher, instructions can be found here.

2. Put Synapse sensors on

3. Explain controllers to client

• Show the client what the buttons do prior to putting the headset on

4. Put VR headset on client

• There are two adjustable lenses inside the headset that must be adjusted for each user. Users should feel no eye strain at all. Extra information can be found here.

• Ask the client if they get motion sickness. If they do, use teleportation mode.

5. Set up your computer

• Sign into admin website and click the Live tile.

• Select or create the client on the admin website.

• Open Synapse and select the client there as well.

• Open the MCH Desktop app and click connect.

• Select the computer on the admin website.

• Click the headset on the MCH Desktop app.

6. Guide client to experience

7. Describe experience

• Before the client starts their experience, explain to them either:

• Crystal Cave:

  • While listening to the meditation track of your choice you will be trying to keep your brainwaves aligned correctly. The crystals glow brighter as your brainwaves stay correctly aligned. The goal is to keep the crystals as bright as possible for as long as possible by keeping your brainwaves regulated.

• Nature Screen:

  • While watching your favorite TV show or movie, the screens brightness and audio will go up your brainwaves are aligned correctly. The goal is to keep your brainwaves regulated to keep the screens brightness and volume up as high as possible for as long as possible.

8. Start the session

• When the device is ready to start the session, enter the session length on the admin website and start the session. Start Synapse after doing this.

9. Ending the session

• Either await the end of the session (timer to hit zero) or press end early button to stop the session

• Submit the clients efficiency score from Synapse into the Meta Core Health VR app pop up

• Tell the client to fill out the questionnaire.

• Enter in session notes on the admin website and click the save session button.

Ending Session

10. Shutting down

• If clients are in free mode (if they are still able to walk around after the session), please tell the client to press both joysticks in to send them back to the waiting room. If the client is in teleportation mode, they will be sent there automatically after the next step.

• Remove headset from the client and clean it after every session (cleaning instructions here).
